November – January 2025 Newsletter
This winter is record cold in Virginia. I pray for the CA fire victims for God’s comfort and guidance. As I watched the news, God reminded me again that all things will be turned to ashes. Only eternal things will last forever (believing God, sharing the gospel, love, forgiveness, prayer, serving Jesus, giving time, money and energy for His kingdom works).
God has opened up many opportunities this winter and here are few things I want to share:
On Oct 26, 2024, in a Trunk or Treat Celebration, the JP team had the opportunity to share the good news with 72 kids and 5 adults. 28 children and 2 adults accepted Christ. 7 rejected Jesus.
I was so touched by 2 Hispanic adult sisters who watched their children accepting Christ. They came back to me so I could go over the gospel bracelet with them. They received Jesus into their life and they were so grateful with teary eyes for praying with them. People are in pain and they are seeking someone to bring them to Christ.
Then I met a 6th grade boy who was unbeliever, but when he heard the gospel, that his sins could be forgiven by believing in Jesus, he desired to receive Jesus into his life. We prayed together and told him to come to the nearby church.
One Christian Indian lady came back and asked to go over the bracelet so she could memorize it and share it with others. She was motivated and enjoyed learning about the wordless book.
Unlike last year, this year, Christian boys and girls were bold to say, "I believe Jesus." Last year respondents were hesitant and unsure about being a Christian.
Gosen Hispanic Young Adult Bible study is growing strong and steadily. They are so hungry for Jesus that they take God’s word like a dry-sponge. Many have hard lives and some are responsible to take care of their families back home. Our small group prayers last over 30 minutes because each person has so much to say. God said in Matthew 5, “Blessed are the poor in Spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” This is what I see in them. Lord, come and bless these young people and make them your disciples. We meet at pastor’s house because they don’t have a church building.
They are the most alive group I met in NOVA.
It was an exciting time during the Christmas season with the Vietnamese Heritage Church.
We gathered at Pastor Tu’s house and had a special baptism. 80% of the church congregations are non- believers but a few of them made the choice to take stand in front of their people. A young teenager made a commitment to be baptized during Christmas worship. I helped out with playing piano as they worshipped and carried on the baptism. One more soul came to believe. Praise the Lord!!!!
